MoeBios – Closing the loop of the Bios end of life

MOEBIOS is a circular (bio)economy project aiming to develop three new value chains for recycling bioplastics (BPs) to improve waste management across Europe. It is a systemic innovation connecting all key stages of the value chain—from waste collection to the upcycling and validation of final recycled products. The project will process waste from the packaging, agriculture, and textile sectors into recycled products with equal or better quality and functionality than the original materials, while also assessing user acceptance.

Our Partners in the world.

MOEBIOS targets scaling up recycling processes within existing industrial facilities without disrupting operations, aiming for a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 6/7 or higher. It focuses on bioplastics with no established recycling processes, such as PLA, PHA, PBS, and PEF, while also assessing PBAT. A Multi-Actor Approach (MAA) involving over 50 stakeholders—including industry, authorities, and citizens—will foster co-creation and innovation.
